Carrying the flame
Changing lives.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run® (LETR) is the largest grassroots fundraiser and public awareness campaign benefiting Special Olympics. Across Maine, hundreds of law enforcement officers partner with athletes to raise funds, volunteer at events, and carry the Flame of Hope® into the Opening Ceremony of the State Summer Games.
Together, they’re building stronger, more inclusive communities- one event at a time.

A Partnership That Changes Lives
The Law Enforcement Torch Run brings athletes and law enforcement officers together through shared experiences, teamwork, and service. Whether carrying the Flame of Hope®, volunteering at competitions, or supporting a local fundraiser, officers help create opportunities that extend far beyond the finish line—building stronger communities where everyone belongs.
