Fri Sept 4th Applebee’s in Windham: Tip-an-athlete. Athletes from Massabesic and Bonney Eagle will be on hand at the Applebee’s in Windham for the first ever Tip-An-Athlete event from 5-8.

Fri Sept 4th LL BEAN COP ON TOP- This Friday two members of the Freeport Police Dept will be perched on the roof top of the LL Bean Main Building porch from 9 AM until Midnight in hopes of raising money and awareness for Special Olympics Maine. There will also be a concert taking place outside at LL Bean. Torch Ride: Sat Sept 5th The 6th annual Torch Ride is taking place this Saturday. Such an awesome event. Motorcycle ride, BBQ, live music and Transportation museum at Owls Head…all to benefit SOME.https://www.facebook.com/torchrideforspecialolympicsmaine

Applebee’s Bangor: Tip A Cop Sept 11

Applebee’s Tip-a-cop Brunswick Sept 11… could still use some volunteers at this location.

 Irving/Circle K:TSAP: Saturday September 12th from 10-2 To Serve and Protect annual event at Circle K and Irving locations across the state. Members of Maine Law Enforcement, SOME athletes and their families and coaches, BOD members etc will be on hand at 40 locations this year pumping gas and washing windshields to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics Maine. We could still use volunteers so if you have a location near you that you would be willing to cover please let me know. lisab@somaine.org

Daddy O’s: Oxford County: Daddy O’s in Oxford has an exciting night planned for Saturday September 12th and they want everyone to be a part of it. From 7-9 PM the public will have the opportunity to enjoy some live 50”s music, a Cruise Night car show and hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks. The event is free but they will be collecting donations for local Special Olympics programming… 100% of the proceeds will benefit the local Special Olympics athletes.

Sept 16th Tip-A-Warden: Visit the gang from North Woods Law when they host a tip-a-cop event on Sept 16th at the Applebee's in Waterville.

Sept 19th Boots N’ Bulls Rodeo: Colt Bernhardt of the Franklin County Sheriffs Department will be riding in the Boots N' Bulls Rodeo on Saturday September 19th in hopes of raising funds for and an awareness of Special Olympics Maine. The gates will open at 11 and the Rodeo kicks off at Noon. Music in the afternoon around 2PM. Rodeo will take place at the Litchfield Fairgrounds. there is a

"Protective Behaviors"

Training Policy in effect!!!

Class "A" Volunteer is defined as
an individual who will have direct contact with or supervision of an athlete.
All Class "A" volunteers MUST
complete a "Protective Behaviors" course -
an online version is available.

Once you have successfully completed the course, SOME will receive an email confirmation that you have completed the training.  We would prefer that everyone use the online training, however, if you are not able to, you may obtain a CD version of the training, by calling Ian Frank at 879-0489.
